Why is it that Sadio Mane and Akon could give back to their people in such a way as they did? Why did they not have to create a lot of filters and trials for those that they gave back to?
For
one their people were their countrymen. In addition, their people were in need of help and so held a priority. Very personal with their being moms, dads, relatives, etc.
But also, their people were likely vastly a majority of the same Faith affiliation. They are already knowing how they learned, lived and practiced the religion that their people share affiliation with.
None of those filters are absolutely required in giving. More than likely Sadio Mane and Akon have given to other countries and branches of Abrahamic Faith. But I think for them clearly there was a duty to their own people of the "Lion's Share" on their spreadsheets of giving.
They already recognized their people, and what their people were experiencing because they experienced those things themselves growing up. For example, Sadio once said that he played soccer with no shoes on and he understood or recognized where he came from. There doesn't appear to have been a broad stroke of an in-crowd out-crowd in how Sadio recognized and gave back to his people. He built schools, a stadium, and gives members of an entire village a monthly allowance. This was what he said in the famous cracked screen of his iPhone response.
Akon on the other hand is on the level of building a city for his people in Senegal. Both men are from Senegal. Al-Islam contributes greatly to defining a man of many races in Islam, and the defining of a Black man in Islam.

It is important to recognize Islam in one's own people, but it is also very important with Allah (swt) to recognize Al-Islam when abroad and someone says As Salaamu Alaikum and supports their own claim of affiliation with Al Islam with testimony of Allah's Holy Words.
But also, important not to burn bridges. It was in going to the UK that Sadio was able to earn money like that anyway through the great system of the "men" of UK Football Leagues. Similar with Akon who was behind the breakout success of Lady Gaga. He not burning bridges there brought him great earnings with a woman not from his country of origin. I really give minimal ear to lyrical music, by the way.
Allah said this when Allah (swt) said,
"O ye who believe! When ye go abroad in the cause of Allah, investigate carefully, and say not to anyone who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a believer!" Coveting the perishable goods of this life: with Allah are profits and spoils abundant. Even thus were ye yourselves before, till Allah conferred on you His favours: Therefore, carefully investigate. For Allah is well aware of all that ye do. (An-Nisa 4:94)"
But while not giving so much that you become impoverished or neglect yourself, wife, children, family, people and countrymen...
It is true sometimes there is a need to try or test people first at times as when Allah (swt) said of the orphans,
"Make trial of orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them; but consume it not wastefully, nor in haste against their growing up. If the guardian is well-off, Let him claim no remuneration, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable. When ye release their property to them, take witnesses in their presence: But all-sufficient is Allah in taking account." ~ HQ 4:6
But not repulse the orphans nor discourage the feeding of the indigent,
"Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)?
Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness),
And encourages not the feeding of the indigent." ~ HQ 107:1-3
Nor oppress the orphans, "And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, Nor repulse the petitioner (as unheard);" ~ HQ 93:8-10
The reason that there is a need to test or try people first is because of some who are using poverty and "being needy" to con, scam, swindle, cheat, setup, rob, gimmick other people. This same type of maneuver was used on an off-duty Police Officer in Chicago who happened to be a smaller Black woman than the larger Black men who attempted to trick her on the honor of the poor and resulted in her fatally shooting one of them. 3 guys were walking and 2 of them started to go after 1 of them and it made a lot of noise that prompted her to come down. She shooed the 2 guys away from the 1 guy and turned her head to look at those other 2. The guy lunged at her when she trusted to turn her head away from him out of her peripheral vision but did not know she was an off-duty. But that she was a petite Black woman is another indicator of the state of "some" minds on the Southside of Chicago. There are a few things that were rare and largely unheard of with our generation in Chicago. It might have happened at times, but the frequency made it unusual. But due to this type of thing the poor are subject to tests and trials. This makes it very important for women of Faith and women in general to give to Charity Orgs that can reach the needy rather than in person or journeying for the service of doing that alone. Trustworthiness and truthfulness are qualities of the Sidiqeen. The Sidiqeen are of tremendous value.
The foundations of security and healing and all of their evolution are from Allah and alignment with His Covenant. To depart from His Covenant is to lose His security, healing and many other things. Many people dismiss the relevance and importance of the security, healing, etc. that comes from Allah (swt). But we often have to do things for Allah (swt) to receive/heal/progress/etc. It is like an offering to Him in Salaat, Saum, Zakaat, Hajj, etc. and then make dua to ask of Him (swt). Like when Allah (swt) said to wash before praying to Him or when Allah (swt) said to do some good or good things before going to visit Nabi Muhammad (saws). We cannot give Allah (swt) orders. He is the Master not the servant. Yes, many times, we can ask and we shall receive but how often does that work with even humans? Even humans will say, "Dayaag all you ever doing is asking me for stuff." Allah (swt) certainly being Wiser than humans will say the same and require that you do somethings for Him (swt) sometimes and then ask Him your needs. In the case of humans sometimes got to make that money with your constituents get them right and ask at workable frequencies.
Thus, why 50/50 splits are on the table for me to members of the the Islamic Fellowship. But I have offered to other groups, as well. But my niyyat was initially to go to Muslimah social media Influencers with these offers. Cannot force nor pressure those ladies. There is no compulsion in religion or life. They have to keep their freedom of choice. So not the slam dunk I thought it would be and needed to ask others if they were interested. Although trade is not charity, at Nisa 29 it is an act of Ibadah by mutual goodwill so is still in that Spirit of doing something good to then later ask Allah (swt) for His Help concerning something else important (cancer screenings, having children, rain for crops, etc.). 50/50 temporary Split Offer on my music.
