ASA WR WB to believing Muslim friends.
We have to no longer accept the malicious (not accidental) reference to Chicago as "Chi-town". Aoudhubillahi minal shaitanir rajeem. Because there are people who say it and know what they mean, and those who say and don't know and are just using that.
The malicious might even ask, "Are you from Chi-town?"
It is a Laghwa (Quran img below) and a Lainat (Injeel img below) combined. Really Allah (swt) has asked us to say, "I am from Allah (swt) and unto Allah is my return." Inna Lillahi Wa Innaa Ilaihi rajeun."
While you may not necessarily need to rebuke the person like this directly, you can be equipped with understanding to ask Allah to protect you from it and to even Judge them about it. (Hadith from IloveAllaah.com that used to be on Facebook. img)
While we are not to make the life of this world the end all be all, however we still have to fulfill obligations and engagements and maintain ourselves and not let our things and places turn raggedy by our own hands and also not by the hands of others. (Quran on Fitrah of Nabi Ibrahim img below).
