The First Three Sunnahs of Nabi Muhammad (epbuh) Were Arguably: 1. Read; 2. Read; and 3. Read

Bismi Allahi Al Rahmani Al Raheemi
ASA WR WB to believing Muslim friends
Allahumma Salli Ala Wa Barak Ala Sayyidi Nabi Muhammad

Through my observation of this Hadith it appears arguably that the first 3 Sunnahs of Nabi Muhammad (saws) were to:

  1. Read (Iqra)
  2. Read (Iqra)
  3. Read (Iqra)
  4. Prayer and Meditation upon the Words of Allah [because prior to the Arch Angel (epbuh) bringing the Nabi (epbuh) these 3 Commandments, the Nabi (saws) had been long in the habit of praying and meditating in the cave in this way.]
It is easy to observe that Iqra was repeated by the ArchAngel Gabriel (as) because Nabi Muhammad (saws) kept responding that "I do not know how to read." But in terms of our interpretations of his Sunnahs (much like the Hadith in which the reply was "Your Mother." thrice) it seems that the first 3 rules or Sunnahs of the Nabi (saws) are: Read, Read and Read.

Abu Huraira (ra) reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “Who is most deserving of my good company?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked, “Then who?” The Prophet said “Your mother.” The man asked again, “Then who?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked again, “Then who?” The Prophet said, “Your father.”

(The Book of Revelation)

No. 3- Narrated 'Aisha (ra) (the mother of the faithful believers): The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food likewise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read.

The Prophet added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and again asked me to read, and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous." (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones."

Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the PreIslamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Apostle asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while.

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari while talking about the period of pause in revelation reporting the speech of the Prophet "While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira' sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, 'Wrap me (in blankets).' And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses (of Quran):

'O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!' Arise and warn (the people against Allah's Punishment) up to 'and desert the idols.' (74.1-5) After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly."

Keys to the Heavens. Keys to the Treasures of the Heavens and Earth. Belong to God Alone.

Bismi Allahi Al Rahmani Al Raheemi
ASA WR WB to believing Muslim Friends

When someone says, "Rest in Heaven." about a dearly departed; or asks you to say to a dearly departed, "Rest in Heaven"...my thoughts go to these areas:

With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read). ~ Surahtul Anam Ayat 156

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the Signs of God,- it is they who will be in loss. ~ Surahtul Zumar Ayat 63

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: He enlarges and restricts. The Sustenance to whom He will: for He knows full well all things. ~ Surahtul Shura Ayat 12

Say: "I have no power over any good or harm to myself except as God willeth. If I had knowledge of the unseen, I should have multiplied all good, and no evil should have touched me: I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings to those who have faith." ~ Surahtul Araf Ayat 188

[Said Prophet Nuhi (may eternal peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)]
"I tell you not that with me are the treasures of God, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that God will not grant them (all) that is good: God knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer (Zalimun)." ~ Surahtul Hudi Ayat 31

[More from Nabi Nuhi (as)]
Noah
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
[71:1]
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty."
[71:2]
He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open:
[71:3]
"That ye should worship God, fear Him and obey me:
[71:4]
"So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by God is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew."
[71:5]
He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day:
[71:6]
"But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right).
[71:7]
"And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance.
[71:8]
"So I have called to them aloud;
[71:9]
"Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private,
[71:10]
"Saying, ’Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving;
[71:11]
"’He will send rain to you in abundance;
[71:12]
"’Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water).
[71:13]
"’What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in God,-
[71:14]
"’Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages?
[71:15]
"’See ye not how God has created the seven heavens one above another,
[71:16]
"’And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?
[71:17]
"’And God has produced you from the earth growing (gradually),
[71:18]
"’And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)?
[71:19]
"’And God has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),
[71:20]
"’That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.’"
[71:21]
Noah said: "O my Lord! They have disobeyed me, but they follow (men) whose wealth and children give them no increase but only Loss.
[71:22]
"And they have devised a tremendous Plot.
[71:23]
"And they have said (to each other), ’Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa’, neither Yaguth nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr’;-
[71:24]
"They have already misled many; and grant Thou no increase to the wrong- doers but in straying (from their mark)."
[71:25]
Because of their sins they were drowned (in the flood), and were made to enter the Fire (of Punishment): and they found- in lieu of God- none to help them.
[71:26]
And Noah, said: "O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth!
[71:27]
"For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones.
[71:28]
"O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women: and to the wrong-doers grant Thou no increase but in perdition!"

Must not defile other people of Faith. It is a shameful and despicable practice.

‎[Don't be like the people who threw filth on the Nabi (saws) while he prayed.] I honestly believe that people that defile a person, attempting to lawfully (because there are unlawful techniques) purify his or herself for the pleasure of Allah, could get Jehanum for eternity. With Allah is the Judgment or Salvation in this matter. Allahumma Ameen.
But, they would, however, be of the same category of persons that were condemned by Nabi Muhammed (saws). The same case. Narrated by Amr bin Maimuin: 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud said, "While Allah's Apostle was praying beside the Ka'ba, there were some Quraish people sitting in a gathering. One of them said, 'Don't you see this (who does deeds just to show off)? Who amongst you can go and bring the dung, blood and the abdominal contents (intestines, etc). of the slaughtered camels of the family of so and so and then wait till he prostrates and put that in between his shoulders?' The most unfortunate amongst them ('Uqba bin Abi Mu'ait) went (and brought them) and when Allah's Apostle prostrated, he put them between his shoulders. The Prophet remained in prostration and they laughed so much so that they fell on each other. A passerby went to Fatima, who was a young girl in those days. She came running and the Prophet was still in prostration. She removed them and cursed upon the Quraish on their faces. When Allah's Apostle completed his prayer, he said, 'O Allah! Take revenge on Quraish.' He said so thrice and added, 'O Allah! take revenge on 'Amr bin Hisham, 'Utba bin Rabia, Shaiba bin Rabi'a, Al-Walid bin'Utba, Umaiya bin Khalaf, 'Uqba bin Abi Mu'ait and 'Umar a bin Al-Walid." Abdullah added, "By Allah! I saw all of them dead in the battle field on the day of Badr and they were dragged and thrown in the Qalib (a well) at Badr: Allah's Apostle then said, 'Allah's curse has descended upon the people of the Qalib (well).' ~ Sahih Al Bukhari Book of Sutrah No 500 ‎[Again, don't be like the people who threw filth on the Nabi (saws) while he prayed. Those who did that past and future are in a very bad category of people. "And We made them (a people) of the Past and an Example to later ages." ~ Surahtul Zukhruf 56.] http://seekersguidance.org/ans-blog/2011/02/11/is-it-true-that-someone-threw-trash-on-the-prophet-peace-and-blessings-of-allah-be-upon-him/ [Again, don't be like the people who threw filth on the Nabi (saws) while he prayed.] "Some Narrations that Recount the Throwing of Trash on the Doorstep Imam al-Suhayli says in his commentary on the Seerah of Ibn Hashim, called al-Raud al-Anif: “The Chapter on [the Harms and Abuse] that the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) Received from His People: Ibn Ishaq [am: called the “shaykh of all the scholars of the prophetic biography”], al-Waqidi, al-Taymi, Ibn ‘Uqbah and others mention under this chapter many incidents… … from throwing sand on his [blessed] head… and from amongst [the incidents] is that they would pile up torn intestines, human feces and blood on his door, and through a dead sheep’s uterus into his cooking pot…” [al-Raud al-Anif, al-Suhayli] Ibn Sa’d, the early biographer and historian, narrated in his work on history, al-Tabaqat, through ‘Aisha may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was reported to have said, “I was [living, in Mecca] between the two worst neighbors [one could have]: between Abu Lahab [his uncle and sworn enemy] and ‘Uqbah ibn Abi M’uayt [who once threw a sheep’s insides on his blessed head, peace be upon him, while he was praying]. Indeed, they would come with bloodied intestines and throw it on my doorstep…” [al-Tabaqa, Ibn Sa’d, as quoted in Suyuti’s Jami’ al Kabir] In other narrations, it is mentioned that when this would happen, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pick up the refuse with a stick, come outside of his door, and say aloud, “O sons of Bani Abdi Manaf [his own clan], what kind of protection is this? [am: his clan had pledged to protect him, but did not stop people’s abuses from even reaching his doorstep] Then, he would remove the waste from his doorstep and take it out to the street. [Subul al-Huda wa al-Rashad, al-Solihi; al-Raheeq al-Makhtum, al-Mubarakpuri] The first woman reported to have done that was Umm Jamil, the wife of Abu Lahab, the paternal uncle and sworn enemy of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She would gather thorny branches and palm fibers and place them overnight in the path where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would walk. It can be assumed that this includes the doorstep and walkway of his house, since streets are shared between others. There are many incidents that occurred like this, but the above is enough to show that it did indeed occur, not once but many times, so much so that many incidents of abuse must have gone uncounted and unreported. A Story that is Commonly Heard Today When asking whether this story is authentic or not, someone may be alluding to a tale that is commonly heard today: It goes that a Jewish woman in Mecca who would throw garbage on the doorstep of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in defiance of his message, and one day she fell sick and could not throw the garbage, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) visited her. Then it is said that she was so amazed at his character that she realized his prophethood and accepted Islam." ~ Quoted research work of Sidi Abdullah Anik Misra The late Saddam Hussein (former President of Iraq) was charged with using germ warfare in use with possessing WMD. The type of condemnation that Saddam Hussein's regime received surrounding the germ warfare charges would not afford anyone the right to use germ warfare (also termed biological warfare), even on a civilian level. A new dimension on najas.

A Before and After.

This is a blog on the slow progression of my graphic video making efforts over a period of about 2 or 3 years. I am posting here the first video graphic lecture that I produced and below it will be the last one that I produced. The last one done about 2 years agp. I, incidentally, was intending to complete all of the books of Sahih Al Buhkari the same way and quality and I was not strengthened to do so. Though, strength wasted, perhaps Allah may strengthen me to do so later, and if not Alhamdulilah, either way.

The Mockers

This is scripture surrounding the topic of mockery from individuals and the prophesies against such a defect of character. The Quran instructs that we should throw back their covenant on them...this is difficult to do if one has not examined the Holy Bible (or rather the "Truth" that remains therein).

Holy Quran on the Soul

A collection of Ayats on the very important topic of the soul in Al Islam.
