It is a good thing to know if someone considers going to Saudi Arabia. Surahtul Maidah (Maidah means the Table Spread with Food; Last Supper; Passover) Ayat 38, "As to the thief, Male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in power." [I believe that this is something that is only enforced by Government appointed Law Enforcement and not random citizens. And it is after due process in the Judicial system of their Courts of Law.]
