Something that I should remember from Tobit, especially when coming across Catholic friends.

{The New Revised Standard Bible with the Apocrypha has a very difficult story about Tobit and his son's (Tobias') marriage to a girl named Sarah. Powerful help from God (Allah) was needed and given, but, some of the conditions for receiving that powerful help are spelled out in Tobit 13. [Namely (a natural measure of) praising; acknowledging the works of; and glorifying Yahweh (Al Huwa); fasting, almsgiving; righteous efforts towards works.] To Yahweh (Allah) be the glory and the praise. In terms of alsmgiving...1 should not give more than they can afford. And charity can begin at home amongst family and relatives and extend out from there. This is a good passage to remember when I come into contact with some of my Catholic friends. (Sort of common grounds between us...where our paths cross, so to speak.)} It seems to be similar to the instructions from Allah (swt) in Surahtul Rumi (The Romans) of the Holy Quran: [30:14]On the Day that the Hour will be established,- that Day shall (all men) be sorted out.[30:15]Then those who have believed and worked righteous deeds, shall be made happy in a Mead of Delight.[30:16]And those who have rejected Faith and falsely denied our Signs and the meeting of the Hereafter,- such shall be brought forth to Punishment.[30:17]So (give) glory to God, when ye reach eventide and when ye rise in the morning;[30:18]Yea, to Him be praise, in the heavens and on earth; and in the late afternoon and when the day begins to decline.[30:19]It is He Who brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living, and Who gives life to the earth after it is dead: and thus shall ye be brought out (from the dead).
Tobit 13
1 When the wedding celebration was ended, Tobit called his son Tobias and said to him, "My child, see to paying the wages of the man who went with you, and give him a bonus as well." 2 He replied, "Father, how much shall I pay him? It would do no harm to give him half of the possessions brought back with me. 3 For he has led me back to you safely, he cured my wife, he brought the money back with me, and he healed you. How much extra shall I give him as a bonus?" 4 Tobit said, "He deserves, my child, to receive half of all that he brought back." 5 So Tobias called him and said, "Take for your wages half of all that you brought back, and farewell." 6 Then Raphael called the two of them privately and said to them, "Bless God and acknowledge him in the presence of all the living for the good things he has done for you. Bless and sing praise to his name. With fitting honor declare to all people the deeds of God. Do not be slow to acknowledge him. 7 It is good to conceal the secret of a king, but to acknowledge and reveal the works of God, and with fitting honor to acknowledge him. Do good and evil will not overtake you. 8 Prayer with fasting is good, but better than both is almsgiving with righteousness. A little with righteousness is better than wealth with wrongdoing. It is better to give alms than to lay up gold. 9 For almsgiving saves from death and purges away every sin. Those who give alms will enjoy a full life, 10 but those who commit sin and do wrong are their own worst enemies. 11 "I will now declare the whole truth to you and will conceal nothing from you. Already I have declared it to you when I said, "It is good to conceal the secret of a king, but to reveal with due honor the works of God.' 12 So now when you and Sarah prayed, it was I who brought and read the record of your prayer before the glory of the Lord, and likewise whenever you would bury the dead. 13 And that time when you did not hesitate to get up and leave your dinner to go and bury the dead, 14 I was sent to you to test you. And at the same time God sent me to heal you and Sarah your daughter-in-law. 15 I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand ready and enter before the glory of the Lord." 16 The two of them were shaken; they fell face down, for they were afraid. 17 But he said to them, "Do not be afraid; peace be with you. Bless God forevermore. 18 As for me, when I was with you, I was not acting on my own will, but by the will of God. Bless him each and every day; sing his praises. 19 Although you were watching me, I really did not eat or drink anything—but what you saw was a vision. 20 So now get up from the ground, and acknowledge God. See, I am ascending to him who sent me. Write down all these things that have happened to you." And he ascended. 21 Then they stood up, and could see him no more. 22 They kept blessing God and singing his praises, and they acknowledged God for these marvelous deeds of his, when an angel of God had appeared to them.

Mention of the Unforgivable Sins in the Kitab

Mention of the Unforgivable Sins in the Kitab:
Jeremiah 2:22: “Long ago I broke your yoke and tore away the chains of your slavery, but still you would not obey me. On every hill and under every green tree, you have prostituted yourselves by bowing down to idols. “How could this happen? When I planted you, I chose a vine of the purest stock -- the very best. How did you grow into this corrupt wild vine? No amount of soap or lye can make you clean. You are stained with guilt that cannot be washed away, I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken.””

Isaiah 22:14: “The Lord, the LORD Almighty, called you to weep and mourn. He told you to shave your heads in sorrow for your sins and to wear clothes of sackcloth to show your remorse. (to offer sacrifices and repent) But instead, you dance and play; you slaughter sacrificial animals, feast on meat, and drink wine. “Let's eat, drink, and be merry,” you say. “What's the difference, for tomorrow we die.” The Lord Almighty has revealed to me that this sin will never be forgiven you until the day you die.”

{Reference in Quran} Holy Quran 4:48, “Allah (God) forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him (blasphemy, idolatry, paganism); but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with God is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.”

One must seek refuge with Allah from those that sap the strength

And cerrtainly in the remembrance of God do hearts find rest and satisfaction. "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of God: for without doubt in the remembrance of God do hearts find satisfaction." ~ Surahtul Rad 28. May Eli be refuge from the blood thirsty; the blood suckers; and those that sap the life-force of the people of God. [If thou fearest treachery from any of them throw back their covenant on them so as to be on equal terms for God loveth not the treacherous. HQ 8:58]

Leviticus 17
Eating Blood Forbidden

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: 'This is what the LORD has commanded: 3 Any Israelite who sacrifices an ox, a lamb or a goat in the camp or outside of it 4 instead of bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD in front of the tabernacle of the LORD--that man shall be considered guilty of bloodshed; he has shed blood and must be cut off from his people. 5 This is so the Israelites will bring to the LORD the sacrifices they are now making (to evil spirits) in the open fields. They must bring them to the priest, that is, to the LORD, at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and sacrifice them as fellowship offerings. 6 The priest is to sprinkle the blood against the altar of the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and burn the fat as an aroma pleasing to the LORD. 7 They must no longer offer any of their sacrifices to the (pagan) (goat) idols to whom they prostitute themselves. This is to be a lasting ordinance for them and for the generations to come.' 8 "Say to them: 'Any Israelite or any alien living among them who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice 9 and does not bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to sacrifice it to the LORD--that man must be cut off from his people. 10 " 'Any Israelite or any alien living among them who eats any blood--I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people. 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. 12 Therefore I say to the Israelites, "None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood." 13 " 'Any Israelite or any alien living among you who hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain out the blood and cover it with earth, 14 because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, "You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off." 15 " 'Anyone, whether native-born or alien, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be ceremonially unclean till evening; then he will be clean. 16 But if he does not wash his clothes and bathe himself, he will be held responsible.' "

Instructions for the Priests concerning Sacrificial Offerings and Cleanliness

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Tell Aaron and his sons to treat the sacred gifts that the Israelites set apart for me with great care, so they do not profane my holy name. I am the LORD. 3 Remind them that if any of their descendants are ceremonially unclean when they approach the sacred food presented by the Israelites, they must be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD! 4 "If any of the priests have a contagious skin disease or any kind of discharge that makes them ceremonially unclean, they may not eat the sacred offerings until they have been pronounced clean. If any of the priests become unclean by touching a corpse, or are defiled by an emission of semen, 5 or by touching a creeping creature that is unclean, or by touching someone who is ceremonially unclean for any reason, 6 they will remain defiled until evening. They must not eat any of the sacred offerings until they have purified their bodies with water. 7 When the sun goes down, they will be clean again and may eat the sacred offerings. After all, this food has been set aside for them. 8 The priests may never eat an animal that has died a natural death or has been torn apart by wild animals, for this would defile them. I am the LORD. 9 Warn all the priests to follow these instructions carefully; otherwise they will be subject to punishment and die for violating them. I am the LORD who makes them holy. 10 "No one outside a priest's family may ever eat the sacred offerings, even if the person lives in a priest's home or is one of his hired servants. 11 However, if the priest buys slaves with his own money, they may eat of his food. And if his slaves have children, they also may share his food. 12 If a priest's daughter marries someone outside the priestly family, she may no longer eat the sacred offerings. 13 But if she becomes a widow or is divorced and has no children to support her, and she returns to live in her father's home, she may eat her father's food again. But other than these exceptions, only members of the priests' families are allowed to eat the sacred offerings. 14 "Anyone who eats the sacred offerings without realizing it must pay the priest for the amount eaten, plus an added penalty of 20 percent. 15 No one may defile the sacred offerings brought to the LORD by the Israelites 16 by allowing unauthorized people to eat them. The negligent priest would bring guilt upon the people and require them to pay compensation. I am the LORD, who makes them holy." 17 And the LORD said to Moses, 18 "Give Aaron and his sons and all the Israelites these instructions, which apply to those who are Israelites by birth as well as to the foreigners living among you. If you offer a whole burnt offering to the LORD, whether to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering, 19 it will be accepted only if it is a male animal with no physical defects. It may be either a bull, a ram, or a male goat. 20 Do not bring an animal with physical defects, because it won't be accepted on your behalf. 21 "If you bring a peace offering to the LORD from the herd or flock, whether to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering, you must offer an animal that has no physical defects of any kind. 22 An animal that is blind, injured, mutilated, or that has a growth, an open sore, or a scab must never be offered to the LORD by fire on the altar. 23 If the bull or lamb is deformed or stunted, it may still be offered as a freewill offering, but it may not be offered to fulfill a vow. 24 If an animal has damaged testicles or is castrated, it may never be offered to the LORD. 25 You must never accept mutilated or defective animals from foreigners to be offered as a sacrifice to your God. Such animals will not be accepted on your behalf because they are defective." 26 And the LORD said to Moses, 27 "When a bull or a ram or a male goat is born, it must be left with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as an offering given to the LORD by fire. 28 But you must never slaughter a mother animal and her offspring on the same day, whether from the herd or the flock. 29 When you bring a thanksgiving offering to the LORD, it must be sacrificed properly so it will be accepted on your behalf. 30 Eat the entire sacrificial animal on the day it is presented. Don't leave any of it until the second day. I am the LORD. 31 "You must faithfully keep all my commands by obeying them, for I am the LORD. 32 Do not treat my holy name as common and ordinary. I must be treated as holy by the people of Israel. It is I, the LORD, who makes you holy. 33 It was I who rescued you from Egypt, that I might be your very own God. I am the LORD."

The Expendable Muslims?

Expendable Muslims?:
What does “Expendable” mean? Merriam Webster's Online Dictionary defines it as:

Definition of EXPENDABLE
: that may be expended: as a : normally used up or consumed in service b : more easily or economically replaced than rescued, salvaged, or protected

In other words the question becomes is the life of a muslim expendable on and off the battlefield? Or, does any military or community leader have the right to request of you to commit suicide on or off the battlefield? Or, does any military or community leader have the right to request or suggest or recommend that you fall on your sword on or off the battlefield? Does it begin with the cursing of the muslim expendables? I would argue (the last question), yes, that that is indeed an indication of devaluation.
What does the Quran say? At Surahtul Nisa Ayat 93 it reads,
“If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of God are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.”

Ok, well some might say that I didn't kill him, he killed himself with the C4 vest that I gave him/her. The vest was really a robe of heaven and an opportunity to join the ranks of the martyrs. To that I would say, perhaps...but, only Allah knows, I can only go on the evidence that I have been given. Therefore, I put forth another possibility of the interpretation of these acts,
“And the Law-Giver Allah has made one who leads another to do a deed equal to the doer of the deed himself, both in reward (for a good deed) and in punishment (for a crime). So the inviter to a good deed and the inviter to a bad deed both will have a reward (good or bad) equal to the reward of the one who has done the deed (without taking away from the deeds of the doers)” ~ Appendix 4 of The Quranul Kareem of Darussalam Publishing and Distribution of Riyadh Saudi Arabia and translated by Muhammad Mohsin Khan and Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Hilali

So what if Allah interprets it as Surahtul Nisa Ayat 93, can any of us afford to take the risk. Then what of considering the ayat of Quran Surahtul Nisa Ayat 29, “...Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily God hath been to you Most Merciful!” This portion of this ayat is self-explanatory and is written the same in the over 2 billion Qurans that blanket this Ummah on earth at this time. “Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a Great Sin.” ~ Surahtul Isra Ayat 31. As well as, Surahtul Furqan Ayat 68, "Those who invoke not, with God, any other god, nor slay such life as God has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment..."

Sometimes war happens and if it does, Allah has given us instruction to prepare ourselves for it. But, this requires governments. If you are not being equipped with tanks, air craft carriers, air-force, navy, ground troops, submarines...and you are poorly equipped, then one should choose the pen, or a musical instrument over the C4 vest. Then, maybe your writings or the French Horn or some other instrument becomes your weapon for peace, though music should be the least important subject studied by a muslim, because it is a grey area...but, certainly choose it rather than the C4 vest which clearly has been decreed to mean hell-fire by Surahtul Nisa Ayat 93. This is not cowardice. The Quran says at Surahtul Anfali Ayat 60, “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides, whom you may not know but, Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.” This is something of Islamic governments in Islamic lands to undertake, for the scale of this is too great for any gang or mob mentality. Thus, either join your country's military or use the pen or music (or other leading fields of study) as your weapon for peace in Islam and on earth. In addition there is also the option of getting involved in your country's politics to foster positive change on the causes which you stand for. Also there is the option of becoming a professional boxer; mixed martial artist; or UFC competitor and using these arenas as an expression of the mission for your cause so that random acts of violence on the streets can stop taking place.

It has been said that, “The ink of the scholar is more holier than the blood of the martyr.” (many attribute this saying to Nabi Muhammad (saws), which obviously shows preference for peace through wisdom; to peace through bloodshed on earth.) Another saying is that, “The blood of the muslim is worth more than the Ka'bah.” ~ Sunan Ibn Majah; Silsilah as Saheehah, 3420; Saheeh al Targheeb wal Tarheeb, 2441. It seems that this one suggests that it should not be considered a light matter for the blood of the muslim to be spilled upon the earth. Sacred life.

In short, we have still been given the Commandment from Allah (swt) through Nabi Musa (saws) in the 10 Commandments, "Thou shalt not kill." This is the goal...not to spread mischief and bloodshed upon the earth as when the Malaika (Angels) asked Allah will You create one who will shed blood and spread mischief whilst we dost celebrate Thy Praises and Glorify Thy Holy Names. It is something to think about nonetheless. ASA WR WB to Sami Yusuf, Yusuf Islam and Hamza Yusuf.

And whoever commits suicide with piece of iron will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell-Fire.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari)
Also the Hadith you quoted: the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is also reported to have said: "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said: My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him.”

It may start with a curse upon a brother, sister or jumaat in faith, and then the concept of expendable believer begins. Al Masihu Isa ibn Maryam (∞ pbut) has expressed the wisdom that to curse a brother or sister, in faith, is just as bad as murder. This is, perhaps, where the concept of expendable man or woman of faith begins.
21 "You have heard that the law of Moses says, 'Do not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.' 22 But I say, if you are angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the high council. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. 23 "So if you are standing before the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to God, and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there beside the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. 25 Come to terms quickly with your enemy before it is too late and you are dragged into court, handed over to an officer, and thrown in jail. 26 I assure you that you won't be free again until you have paid the last penny. ~ Matthew 5

Najwa, Gharrar and Laghwa

The believer is one that does not engage in gharrar (buying & selling when person doesn't know wht they've bought or sold); najwa (involving the Nabi or muslim in a plan they know nothing about. Sometimes bad even if plan is for good); & laghwa (using ambiguous speech) Allah has said that there is no Laghwa in Paradise. I believe that doing these 3 things will cause the doer to lose Paradise (Jannah, The Gardens).
‎"They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity (laghwa), free of all taint of ill."~Holy Quran 52:23
{Laghwa means vain talk or obscene language, but, also connotes ambiguity.}

‎"Turnest thou not thy sight towards those who were forbidden secret counsels (najwa) yet revert to that which they were forbidden (to do)? And they hold secret counsels among themselves for iniquity and hostility, and disobedience to the Apostle. And when they come to thee, they salute thee, not as God salutes thee, (but in crooked ways): And they say to themselves, "Why does not God punish us for our words?" Enough for them is Hell: In it will they burn, and evil is that destination!
O ye who believe! When ye hold secret counsel (najwa), do it not for iniquity and hostility, and disobedience to the Prophet; but do it for righteousness and self- restraint; and fear God, to Whom ye shall be brought back.
Secret counsels (najwa) are only (inspired) by the Evil One, in order that he may cause grief to the Believers; but he cannot harm them in the least, except as God permits; and on God let the Believers put their trust."~Holy Quran 58:8-10

‎"Muslim relates from Abu Hurairah that, "The Messenger(saws) of Allah (swt) prohibited sales of whatever a pebble thrown by the seller hits and sales in which there is a chance of risk (gharrar)"
(Nasir al-Mutarriza:) Gharrar is chance or risk meaning it is not known whether it will come to be or not, such as selling fish in the water or birds on the wing. It includes transactions of unknown things, the particulars of which are not fully comprehended by the buyer and seller (al Mughrib fi tartib al-Mur'rib (y94), 2.100).

Gharrar is also mentioned at Holy Quran 7:22, "So by deceit (bi ghuruwr) he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the tree, their shameful parts became manifest to them, and they began to sew together the leaves of the Garden over their bodies. And their Lord called unto them: "Did I not forbid you that tree, and tell you that Satan (Aoudhubillahi) was an avowed enemy unto you?"

It is probably safe to say that the only ones that are free to practice Najwa would be Allah (swt) Himself and His Malaika (Angels). But, it is permissible for doing good and righteousness.

Though some of my views are critical, I am not an extremist and wish for religious peace, truth and

A "Peaceful" path for Israelis and Palestinians would be to engage dialogue/debate with the other 2 Ibrahimic faith groups along the lines of diplomacy, nobility, respect, and "Truth". I have proposed this in the Israel/Palestine situ, basically, stating that Israel and Palestine should be like 2 huge College/University campuses where each of the 3 Ibrahimic faith groups are exchanging the "Truths" from their respective scrolls between each other, as well as, other useful information for establishing peace in Israel/Palestine and the Islamic world as a whole. The pen is mightier than the sword.
Some of my papers were originally written to respond to some Anti-Islamic sentiment that was coming from the Messianic/Judaic communities around 2003-2008.
Some of my papers had to be revised. The papers should not be regarded as inflammatory and inciting hatred towards other faith groups. Some of what I have written should be viewed in the context of debate and rebuttals to views and opinions of others towards Islam. Also, I try to promote healthy dialogue and debate practices to muslims when talking to people of other faith groups. There are pieces that I did a few years ago when I learned of publications like "Voice of the Martyrs - Christian publication"; "Jewish Voice Today", and recently the Burn a Quran Day, and also recently US soldier uses Holy Quran for target practice, and a few others. I have, since these papers, modified my opinion and believe healthy debate between the 3 Ibrahimic faith groups of the 3 revealed books of Allah (Torah, Injeel and Quran) would be more constructive. The synopsis is that each of the 3 Ibrahimic faiths rejects the books of the other 2. Thus, in order to enjoy happiness from every side one must be willing to judge by all the revelations given to them by Allah (swt). Surahtul Maidah Ayat 66, "If only they had stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them a party on the right course: but many of them follow a course that is evil." ~ Holy Quran. This debate structure has been a formal effort and has been submitted to proper authorities in a long proposal 7 times already for a venue facility for this purpose in Israel.
In short, I say again, that the pen is mightier than the sword. Dialogue may be the best solution.
